The aim of the course is to provide the student with the skill and confidence to carry out appropriate and effective First Aid in any situation they may find themselves in. The course is spread over 3 days, with assessments and competencies undertaken on the afternoon of the third day. The course follows the Health and Safety Executive guidelines and recommendations.

The HSE First Aid at Work qualification lasts for 3 years and all trainees must re-qualify prior to the expiry date of their previous qualification.
