PATS

PATS (Passenger Assistant Training Scheme) is aimed primarily at people who are responsible for the care and supervision of passengers travelling by road, in minibuses, cars, taxis, buses and coaches. People who perform this role are also known as escorts, attendants or carers. PATS training may also be relevant to drivers, for example where they have a dual role as a driver/carer or work closely with a passenger assistant and share that responsibility for the care and supervision of passengers. It is a modular training programme which is designed to cover the relevant needs of individuals, for example some assistants may only work with children and not adults.

  • Module A. Role of the Passenger Assistant
  • Module B. Assisting passengers with Disabilities
  • Module C1. Supervising Children and Young People with Special Needs
